Our Story
1946 at Buddy's Rendezvous, a former blind pig owned by Gus and Anna Guerra, on the corner of Six Mile Road Detroit. Gus used Anna Guerra's mother's recipe for sfincione in blue steel pans available from local automotive suppliers. And Detroit pizza was born. A square Foccacia-like base, crispy on the bottom and chewy around the edges. Cheese under the sauce, always.
Three Dollar Bill ~ the community scrip, better known as the Detroit cheers. Introduced to restore confidence in the local economy following economic decline & only available in three-dollar bill denominations.
Support Local
In the spirit of the cheers & after a long tough year in the hospitality industry, it's our ethos to support our local economy. We do this by using other local independents for everything from uniform suppliers, cleaning, tradesmen & produce.
